Smile Designing process typically involves the introduction of porcelain veneers. A veneer is an overlay made of porcelain, which is about the thickness of a baby's fingernail. Though it appears fragile, the porcelain is incredibly durable and strong; it is able to reinforce and cover weak, unattractive teeth and is unable to be distinguished from real tooth material. The strength of porcelain is only matched by the beauty it gives broken, chipped, discolored, uneven, and widely spaced teeth. Most smile design cases can be completed in two to four appointments, set at a pace that is comfortable to the patient.

As white teeth are subconsciously associated with youth, they have become desirable. This has been made more apparent with the spread of American culture worldwide[1], where an especially white smile is coined a "Hollywood smile". Everybody wants a
perfect smile.
